Question:
Don't you think that if they had an adult version of soap operas,it would make them so much more interesting?

I am not a soap fan myself but i would certainly watch if they could use the "f" word and use the language that i hear around here very often! It would make it so much more realistic and if they had them on after the watershed,it maybe would not offend anyone.Eastenders would benefit the most i expect! lol

I don't think being an adult means you have to use bad language. In face, when people use a lot of profanity in their language, it's usually an indication that they don't know how to express themselves intelligently. Or they don't know any better, which is a sign of immaturity. On top of that, I honestly don't think it's all that pleasant to listen to people curse. It grates on my nerves. I can see if someone let fly an expletive once in awhile on a show, to express that they are mad, but not as a constant form of communicating. That would only lead me to change the channel.

In the average soap, as I understand it, you have just about all the residents of one street who have at some stage had sex with all the others in that same street! There must be no more bedposts left, after all the notches cut in them!

they tried that with Hollyoaks, there was a spin off created called Hollyoaks in the City that was shown after the watershed and contained more adult material but it is nowhere near as good as the normal Hollyoaks.

Thank you, but I think there's enough bad language in my house as it is! That wouldn't add or detract from a soap anyway. It just means young moms can't watch it with their toddlers.

well if you always hear bad language then your not going to miss much. i hate watching things with loads of swearing in, they get so boring. Seeing someone with a lack of vocab is boring.

Honestly?? No. I don't like that kind of language, so I prefer not to watch shows with it. Using foul language doesn't make something more realistic. To me, it just makes them sound uneducated.

Well, "Nip/Tuck" had plenty of it and it was somewhat of a soap opera. It gets old after a while to hear that word.

who needs R-rated soaps when we have awesome adult series like "The Sopranos" and the newer show "Dexter"

HBO's "Deadwood" was also chock full of swears!

If it just means more shagging and violence then no thanks. There's enough of that already.
