Question:
GH Fans Don't you wish that Claire Labine was still the writer of GH?

Labine was the BEST writer they had. I often wonder what direction the show would have taken had the Labin's been able to stay at the helm.
I know GH gets called the best soap still, but a lot of what was so fantastic about the show has been destroyed. True . Labine was the heart of the show during the 90's . she understood the characters , each one of them and she wrote character driven storylines instead of plots . plus the writing for sonny and brenda was at its best during Labine , then it went downhill with Guza and his hacks , they kept trying hard to ruin everything that was S&B by bringing stupid Jax . the sonny/Brenda/Jax triangle was of course a huge triangle very popular with the viewers back then but it also kept us from having sonny and brenda for years , a lot of wasted opportunity . i cant believe they never got married or have a child together . travesty that such a beautiful lovestory didnt let anything behind for the fans . sonny should have had a kids with brenda

I agree. Guza doesn't know what the heck he's doing, and never has. He rested on the laurels of what were already good storylines when he came on board and when those storylines were over, we ended up with this: the mob taking over PC and every storyline revolving around that. GH wasn't always like this. And even though I'll always be loyal to this show, I know this show isn't as good as it used to be.

What I feel is really missing from the show is good storytelling. Guza does not have a knack for good storytelling. He forgets the histories of the characters on the show. He doesn't slowly develop relationships between the characters, whether it be romantic or just friendship. He throws characters together at random and then throws them w/someone else in a really short amount of time. To really care and root for a couple, the audience has to actually care about the couple. We need to not only see the angst, but also the good times too, so that we can see what's so great about that couple together. He forgets to just tell a good story, like Monica's breast cancer story, or Stone's AIDS story, or BJ's death. Those storylines not only affected the characters, but their families too. And there should be more going on at the hospital. Afterall, the show is called General Hospital.

Like I said, I'll always love this show and be loyal to it. But there is def some room for improvement in the writing.

GH has the best soap fans; loyal through even this awful (long) writing phase. I do think Gloria Monty was wonderful; there was a lot of fun in the show during her tenure; Claire Labine really made you feel these characters hearts and souls, which I believe made for such loyal fans still today, and such hurt fans when these beloved characters are just shoved off like they were nothing or have their persona changed.

Right now, Bozo the clown could do a better job than Guza!

All of the characters are--well out of character. All the loyalty and friendship we as fans counted on are gone

Sonny took Jason when he felt abandoned by his family. He had brain damage and he became Sonny's right hand-just following orders, doing as he was told. Now suddenly Jason's supposed to be able to rule a multi-million dollar organization?? Doesn't make sense but then none of the storylines do! And this whole make-Spinelli-a lady's man--please! Maxie a sex nymph-that she would even look twice at Spinelli is laughable! That Jax would even ask Carly to have a baby when she has just "lost" Michael was really tacky. That Jason and Carly would be disloyal to Sonny, breaking that bond was unforgivable and I'm down to watching once a week-if I can take the whole 60 minutes!

I agree on one hand with you that we need another writer. Gh isn't actually called the best soap, Y & R is. But I think the fans maintain more of a loyalty at GH. We have lost alot of the reasons that we were loyal to a character. They have turned these people inside and out and we get new folks shoved down our throats and mainstays are ignored. My biggest complaint is why hasn't Bobbi run into Jerry Jax? Come on! With such history? I would love to see Brenda come back though I don't think Sonny should have had children with her. Though he has had them with everyone else. Except Jason. That'll be next.

GH has the main suitable cleansing soap followers; dependable with the aid of even this poor (long) writing section. I do think of Gloria Monty replaced into wonderful; there replaced into various relaxing contained in the teach in the time of her tenure; Claire Labine rather made you sense those characters hearts and souls, which i think made for such dependable followers nevertheless at the instant, and such harm followers whilst those loved characters are purely shoved off like they weren't something or have their character replaced.

ANYONE would be better than the crew they have now!

But Labine would be my first choice. The show was definitely better under her guise!

I'd settle for anyone who wasn't Bob Guza.
