Why is Jaime leaving on All My Children?

I've missed quite a few episodes lately and I read on a message board that Jaime was leaving, but they never said why or where he's going!

Jamie went to Africa - yes, as a doctor.

Justin Bruening and his wife Alexa Havens who plays Babe are married in real life and they're moving to CA. She got an offer first for another venture, and he's going with her. Jamie hasn't had a decent storyline in a long time.

It's simple. There are three possible choices:

1. Justin Bruening is asking for a raise and the execs. of AMC don't want to pay it.

2. The character has been evaluated as "not essential" to the story line and his contract is up.

3. There is not enough "fan following" to support either answer 1 or two above.
